Byblos Bank Armenia (Byblos Bank Armenia) is a closed joint stock company founded in December 2007 after the acquisition of the International Trade Bank in Armenia by the Lebanese Byblos Bank S.A.L. Since its foundation, the bank has expanded its presence by opening four branches in Yerevan, providing customers with a wide range of banking services and financial advice.
In 2008, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) and the OPEC Fund for International Development acquired 25% and 10% of the bank’s shares, respectively, which helped strengthen its financial base and expand opportunities to provide quality services. By the end of 2016, Byblos Bank S.A.L. bought out these shares, once again becoming the sole owner of Byblos Bank Armenia.
The bank’s main activities include attracting deposits, servicing customer accounts, providing consumer and corporate loans, conducting cash and settlement operations, as well as operations with securities and foreign currency.
In 2012, the bank signed an agreement with the International Finance Corporation (IFC) in the amount of USD 10 million to finance mortgage loans and provide customers with opportunities to improve the energy efficiency of housing.
In 2024, Byblos Bank Armenia became the general sponsor of the jubilee events dedicated to the 90th anniversary of the Faculty of Economics and Management of Yerevan State University. In addition, the bank has established scholarships in the amount of AMD 1 million for five students who have distinguished themselves in their studies and social activities, demonstrating its commitment to supporting education and youth in Armenia.
For the convenience of its customers, the bank offers a mobile banking application that allows efficient and secure financial management on the go. The app provides access to various banking services, including balance viewing, transfers, and bill payments.
